Over 200 brands and 500 agricultural products from Jiangsu Province were showcased the 21st China International Agricultural Trade Fair, which was held in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, from November 28 to December 1.

Several cities from Jiangsu, known as the “land of fish and rice”, showcased their specialty products at the national trade fair, which took place in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for the first time.

At the Wuxi City booth were renowned local agricultural and sideline products such as rice and tea, alongside probiotic food and reishi mushroom powder, reflecting a commitment to eco-friendly farming practices.

Thirteen well-established enterprises from Yangzhou City showcased Baoying lotus roots, Yizheng tea, Yangzhou buns, and other famed specialties.

Taizhou presented 76 products, including soup buns, fish balls and taro, achieving on-site sales of nearly 150,000 yuan.

Jiangsu also highlighted its premium broccoli grown in Xiangshui County, Yancheng City, which boasts an annual production of 125,000 tonnes and a value of over 1.289 billion yuan. At the fair, the Xiangshui Broccoli Industry Association signed cooperation agreements with domestic enterprises.

To better meet market needs from the Greater Bay Area, Zhenjiang and Yixing each hosted promotional events. In recent years, Zhenjiang has focused on modernized agricultural development and cultivated over 50 brands at the provincial level and above, such as "Dingzhuang Grapes" and "Yangzhong Puffer Fish."

Jiangsu, a significant cradle of Chinese agricultural civilization, is known for its diverse and high-quality agricultural products, which have long been favored by consumers. Currently, 15 brands from the province are included in the Agricultural Brand Excellence Program of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and 24 brands feature in the China Agricultural Brand Directory. Jiangsu’s iconic brands include Xuyi’s crayfish, Yangshan’s honey peach, Sheyang’s rice, and Yangcheng Lake’s hairy crabs.
