Jiangsu Province’s trade in goods reached 4.61 trillion yuan during the first ten months of this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.6%, outpacing the national growth rate by 2.4 percentage points.
According to Nanjing Customs, private enterprises in Jiangsu recorded imports and exports worth 2.08 trillion yuan in the first 10 months, a 9.8% increase, accounting for 45.2% of the province's total foreign trade.
During the same period, Jiangsu’s imports increased by 6.8% year-on-year to 1.64 trillion yuan. Among these, more than 3,500 tonnes of fresh produce were imported through Nanjing Lukou International Airport, representing a 220% increase.
Customs authorities at the airport are actively facilitating the imports of chilled aquatic products, fruits, seedlings and flowers. Tailored customs clearance solutions are being implemented to transform the airport into an import hub for fresh products in East China.
