November 16 saw the opening of a mediation center offering one-stop solutions for international sea freight disputes, jointly organized by the Jiangsu sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Jiangsu), Nanjing Maritime Court, Jiangsu International Freight Forwarders Association and Jiangsu Shipowners Association.
Yin Jianqing, president of CCPIT Jiangsu, said the logistics supply chain has suffered increased uncertainties and risks, such as sharp price increase and shortage of cargo containers. This also means rising legal risks for market players, from producers to trade agencies.
The mediation center, mainly hosted by CCPIT Jiangsu, will help resolve disputes in international freight shipping, cope with emergencies in the logistics industry and promote judicial appraisal.
