
Fire and smoke are seen after a blast hit a tank containing eight tons of
virulent acrylonitrile liquid in a chemical plant in Jiangdu, East China's
Jiangsu Province December 1, 2005. No death or injuries were reported. The cause
and effect of the explosion are still unknown. Acrylonitrile primarily affects
the nervous system and lungs, can cause death and may cause cancer.
