City plans ban on smelly bean curd
Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is considering a ban on
choudoufu, strong-smelling bean curd, from the city's major streets and scenic
spots.
The ban comes after the city's environmental protection and general
sanitation departments received many complaints from local residents who have
been affected by the strong smell of the famous local snack.
But the proposed ban has also sparked strong protests from those who enjoy
choudoufu.
