On Sep.10th, after the 6 month reconstruction, both sides of the Gulou Tunnel
have been open to traffic again. Besides such frame repairs as water-prevention,
roadbed laying, decoration, etc., systems of fair-prevention, alarm, noise
reduction and supervision have been installed in the tunnel. Advanced
illumination equipment will be beneficial for drivers to adapt the difference in
light between inside and outside tunnel.
