Lava cascades down the slopes of Mayon volcano during its continuing "quiet
eruption" in Legazpi city, south of Manila August 2, 2006. Lava continues to
flow from the crater, approaching just 400m (0.25 miles) away from the 6km (3.7
miles) radius permanent danger zone in Mabinit town. Mayon volcano has been
erupting slowly, putting the lives of thousands of villagers living around its
slopes at risk.
