Jiangsu landscape painting
school, or new Jinling painting school, grew up in 1950s to 1960s when Chinese
painting was undergoing big changes. Together with Jiangsu watermark woodcarving
print it became one of the schools of Chinese representative modern painting.
This was contributed to several famous painters in Jiangsu who made efforts to
create a new style and feature of Jiangsu landscape painting. In 1960s, Jiangsu
landscape, Changan painting, and Lingnan painting are called three rival powers
in fine arts in China.
