Nanjing Library is a Jiangsu public library, a national
first-class library, a literature and information resource center of Jiangsu.
Nanjing Library is originated from Jiangnan Library set up in 1907. By now
Nanjing Library has collected over 7 million items of various literatures. It
ranks three, just after the National Library and Shanghai Library.
Nanjing Library is an important part of the science,
education, and culture cause of our province. With the knowledge economy times
coming, as the guarantee of literature & information resource, the service
center, and important hinge, the function and role of Nanjing library are
becoming more notable in economy construction service, knowledge popularization,
and scientific information spreading. Jiangsu government is constructing a new
modern Nanjing Library to meet the requirement of culture and economy
developments.
