Xijin Ancient Street(西津渡古街)

Xijin Ancient Street, located at the foot of Yuntai Mountain, the south of the city, was originally built in the Six Dynasty and flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties. It has been awarded the Distinguished Protecton Project of Cultrual Heritage of the United Nations. There are a lot of ancient relics in the street, such as the lifesaving organization, the Guanyin Cave, the Xijin Ancient Ferry, etc.

The most-protected and oldest stone pagoda of China is standing across the street, which is also the key national relic protection unit. There are more than 150 shops of differet kinds along Xijin Ancient Street. The harmonious blends of religion, culture,nature and human fully appear here. 

The wheel traces on the stone boards show the change of long history and tell you the story that happed in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. When you come to Xijin Ancient Street, you will feel as if you are having a walk in a out-door history museum.
