Yangzhou is an important shipbuilding base in Jiangsu. In recent years, with the development of the shipbuilding industry, more foreigners have come to Yangzhou, including Smolensky, a Polish marine surveyor.

Before coming to China, Smolensky had worked in Britain, Korea and Vietnam. He said every country had a special cultural atmosphere, adding that he liked to experience different culture and delicacy.

Smolensky was full of praise for delicacy of Yangzhou and said his favorite food was wensi tofu soup, a dish made of toufu and ham.

He drives 30 km to work every day, and the time he takes in travelling allowed him to taste the town's special rhythm carefully.

"How I wish to bring Yangzhou's public bike to Poland," he said.

Smolensky said he is also proud of his own citizen card of Yangzhou, and has visited all the historical and cultural sites in the city after moving to the prefecture-level city two years ago.
