"Attention to pedestrians! Be natural." "Get ready, action!"

On Aug 8, in the century-old Jiangnan Cement Factory at the foot of Qixia Mountain in Nanjing, a young man was directing the filming of a movie in an orderly manner.

Zhou Jizhi, a sophomore at the Beijing Film Academy, filmed his own screenplay and directed the anti-drug short film "Growth of a Small Tree ", with a group of like-minded friends during their summer holiday.

After graduation from the Nanjing Foreign Languages School, he was admitted to the Department of Literature at the Beijing Film Academy with the highest entrance score. He has carefully collected and studied a number of new drug cases handled by domestic police since last year, completing the screenplay this May.

This filming project brought together students from various majors at the Beijing Film Academy, Nanjing University of the Arts, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Jiangsu Normal University. They devoted their passion into making this movie to express their own understanding of society and cinematography.
