Jiangsu’s Wujiang holds int’l rock-climbing contest

An international rock-climbing contest, the 2017 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Wujiang, was kicked off at Sanbaidang Sports Park, Fenhu Lake High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Wujiang city, East China’s Jiangsu province on Oct 8. A total of 144 top-class rock-climbers from 22 countries and regions participated in the rock-climbing competition events in speed and lead, respectively.

As IFSC’s highest-level contest, the IFSC World Cup has been held in Wujiang’s Fenhu for six consecutive years. All the world’s top male and female climbers participated in the contest this year, including Chinese climber Zhong Qixin, the 2016 IFSC World Cup champion in the speed event, who also is known by his nickname, “Asian rock monkey”.
