The elk is a member of the deer family. The Dafeng Elk National Nature Reserve, with its core area of 2,667 hectares, is now the world’s first and largest nature reserve for wild elk. To date, the elk population at the reserve has increased to over 3,000, including more than 300 wild ones. Both the elks’ reproduction and survival rates at the reserve rank at the top in the world.
