(The first prize winner taken by Zhansaya)

Twenty- year-old Zhansaya from Kazakhstan is a sophomore at Nanjing Xiaozhuang University. She stood out from thousands of international shutterbugs in the latest photo contest "Foreigners' View of Jiangsu".

Getting a camera from her parents as her tenth birthday present, little Zhansaya started to build up a long-time interest in photographing. When she first came to Nanjing, she spoke no Chinese and knew little about Chinese cultures. Camera is a good way for her to communicate with the city. She likes to explore the city, and has visited so many places during the past year, including the Confucius Temple, the Laomendong Historic Block, the Ming Tombs and Xuanwu lake. "When I saw the beautiful scenery and interesting picture, I put camera on to record." said Zhansaya.

"As time went on, I began to understand the people and their lives, though I still often miss my native. I've already fallen in love with this city. Just walking in this city is a very good experience, especially in the city centre." she added.

A typical foodie, she is also deeply attracted by the various kinds of snacks here. She would recommend the salted duck whenever she gets a chance. Now, she still has two more years of college life, and she will keep recording the city with her camera and explore more food and cultures here.
