A themed art exhibition on finless porpoise opened at Nanjing Science & Technology Museum on Aug 28, calling for the protection of the rare species in the Yangtze River.

The exhibition is the largest show in China that themed on finless porpoise, with the largest number of works on display. All of the works were created by the volunteers and wildlife photographers in finless porpoise reserves in Nanjing. The exhibition will last till the middle of September.

Now the population of finless porpoise is declining at the speed of 13.7% every year. Experts predict that they will probably become extinct within 10 years without prompt protection.
