80% of XJTLU graduates in 2016 to pursue higher study

Over 2,000 students graduated from Suzhou-based Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University (XJTLU) on July 27.

A graduation ceremony was held for the university’s seventh batch of graduates since it was established in 2006.

Apart from graduate and diploma certificates of XJTLU, the under-graduates were also awarded the certificates of the University of Liverpool.

79 post-graduate and 13 PhD students also attended the ceremony and received their diplomas.

According to XJTLU, over 27% of the graduates received first class honor degree. Around 80% of them will continue to pursue further study, among whom more than 1140 were admitted to Top-100 universities, including Cambridge, Oxford, Columbia, Duke and UCLA etc.

Prof. Fang Daqing, former vice president of XJTLU, Prof. Wang Jianhua, former chairman of the board of XJTLU, and Sir Drummond Bone, former president of the University of Liverpool were awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree.

XJTLU celebrated its tenth founding anniversary on July 26.
