Wuxi restores Chinese nationality for 92-year-old

The 92-year-old Guo Zhuluan abandoned her Australian citizenship and became a Chinese citizen, our reporter learned from the Department of Exit and Entry Administration of Wuxi Municipal Public Security Bureau on June 9.

Guo is the first one who has successfully restored her Chinese nationality in the past five years in Wuxi. She is also the oldest new Chinese citizen in Jiangsu Province.

Guo was born in 1923 and she moved to Wuxi from Guiyang after retirement. In 1989, Guo and her husband moved to Australia with their younger daughter and she became an Australian citizen in 1999. Guo enjoyed the free pension, free health care and other welfare policies in Australia.
