Suzhou primary schools have seen more grade-one students this year and seven public schools and kindergartens opened today to satisfy the growing educational demand.

Suzhou education authorities said primary schools in Suzhou urban area are estimated to receive more than 24,400 new students, over 1,300 more than last year. The baby boom in 2008 is one of the causes of the increase.

The new schools include Xingzhou School, Dushuhu School and Xinghui Kindergarten in Suzhou Industrial Park and Qinyu Primary School in Suzhou New District.
