Jiangsu has just released the province's economic and social development in the first half of the year.
Jiangsu has realized its GDP at the value of 2,538.28 billion yuan in the first half of the year, scoring a year-on-year growth of 9.9%, the reporters learned from the press conference held by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government on July 20.
This number is higher by 2.1 points than the national figures. However, its increase falls back by 1.5 percentage points compared to the same period last year. At the press conference, Liu Xingyuan, statistician of the Provincial Bureau of Statistics, expressed that under the complicated and grim economic situations, Jiangsu's overall economic operation remains stable. Although the economic growth has slowed down, it hasn't seen any sharp downturn.
During the first half of the year, the quality of Jiangsu people's livelihood has significantly improved. The province's disposable income per capita in towns and cities reached 15,655 yuan. With the price factors excluded, the actual growth recorded 10.6%. The province's cash income per capital in rural areas is 7,367 yuan. With the price factors excluded, the actual growth was 11.3%.
While residents' income has experienced faster growth, the price level has a rise-back. In the first half of the year, the consumer price in the province had a year-on-year growth by 3.1%, accounting for a rise-back drop at 0.3 percentage points compared to the first quarter, and a drop of 2.6 percentage points over the same period last year. The continuous fallback of the price level has further enhanced the quality of people's livelihood.
