Jiangsu’s senior Party official welcomes Czech president

Li Qiang, secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and director of the Standing Committee of Provincial People's Congress of Jiangsu, met with Milo? Zeman, president of the Czech Republic, in Nanjing on May 16. Li accompanied Zeman to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, which commemorates the more than 300,000 Chinese lives taken by Japanese invaders when they occupied the city from Dec 13, 1937.

Li Qiang extended a warm welcome to Zeman, who had earlier attended the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, on his visit to Nanjing. Li introduced the economic and social development in Jiangsu and the historical culture of Nanjing. He said that in recent years, Jiangsu and the Czech Republic have increased exchanges and cooperation in various fields as both countries deepen relations.
