Buildings along the North Taiping Road in Nanjing are set to take on the new "Minguo" look.

Renovations, which create a look also known as the Republic of China style, have already begun, with a few having been finalized, and are expected to be complete by the end of May, 2017.

The two kilometer-long North Taiping Road stretches from as far as East Zhongshan Road to Jiankang Road.

Upon completion, a total of 73 houses will be involved in the renovation project planned for the strip.

Of the 25 houses on Changfu Street, four will be cleaned, 15 need major renovation work and the other six will have light renovations.

At present, the work for 12 out of the 15 houses, which need major renovations, have been completed, and the remainder of the work will be finalised this week.

Construction on South Taiping Road will also be expected to be completed by the end of June, 2017. By then, the district featuring the characteristics of the Republic of China era style will be unveiled.
