In 2011, Wuxi’s GDP reached RMB 688.015 billion, with a yearly increase of 11.6%.
Relevant principals from the Wuxi statistical departments made an introduction that Wuxi’s per capita GDP in 2011 reached USD 17,000 according to the current exchange rate. According to the world’s per capita GDP ranking list issued by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in April of 2011, Wuxi’s per capita GDP in 2011 is equivalent to about 40th in the list of 2010, matching that of Saudi Arabia. The world’s average per capita GDP was USD 9,227 in 2010, and Wuxi’s per capita GDP in 2011 is equivalent to 1.8 times of that.
