World Canal Cities Forum to be held in Yangzhou

The 2018 World Canal Cities Forum, to be held in Yangzhou City from Oct. 11 to 13, will include government officials, entrepreneurs, canal managers, researchers and volunteers from 31 countries, including the US, Britain, Germany and France.

Representatives of international organizations, such as the United Nations Environment Program and the Inland Waterways Association, and museum directors from home and abroad will also attend the forum.

The forum is co-hosted by the World Historic and Cultural Canal Cities Cooperation Organization (WCCO) and the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CNCPEC).

The organizers will also hold a photo exhibition on cultural relics of the Grand Canal, an award ceremony for the first canal-themed international microfilm exhibition, a symposium on the hydraulic technology and wisdom of the Grand Canal (Yangzhou Section) and a consultation meeting on the planning of the key waterfront area of the Yangzhou section of the Grand Canal.
