The “2018 Looking China - Youth Film Project Jiangsu Tour” was launched at the Tiancizhuang Campus of Soochow University on June 22.

The project was co-organized by the Beijing Normal University Huilin Foundation and the Beijing Normal University Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture. With the help of Soochow University volunteers, ten young directors from the National Institute of Design of India, the Capillano University of Canada, the University of British Columbia and the Budapest Metropolitan University will record the charms of Suzhou City in nearly 20 days and then make a 10-minute documentary short video.

Luo Jun, vice president of the Beijing Normal University Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture, said the event will focus on the theme of "ecology, biology, and life", re-examine the profound Chinese culture from the eyes of foreign youths, present China’s ecological preservation efforts in unique and diversified perspectives, and also explore the new communication of Chinese culture in the context of globalization.

Akos, a young director from the Budapest Metropolitan University, said that he is participating in the project for the second time. In 2017, he won the second prize. He firmly believes that this project will be the beginning of a good friendship.
