Nantong blue calico exhibited in South Korea

Nantong blue calico was displayed at Han Meilin Global Exhibitions in Seoul on June 5, the fifth stop of the world tour after it was held at Venice University, Paris University and National Museum of China.

During the exhibition, more than 300 guests put on scarves made of Nantong blue calico. The exhibits were designed by Han Meilin, and handmade by Wu Yuanxin, Wu Lingshu and Ni Shenjian.

Han Meilin outlined the production skills and procedures for creations with Nantong blue calico as well as his progress in inheriting the knowledge and today’s innovation. Han said the exhibition aims to promote the international influence of the Nantong Blue Calico Museum and establish the foundation for the craftwork to apply for inclusion on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
