Since its launch in 2015, the event has made stops in Milan, London, and New York. The upcoming fair will theme on a meeting of two rivers -- the Qinnhuai River in Nanjing and the Seine River in the French capital, with a series of activities planned from Oct. 21 to 31.

Zhang Peng, chief designer of “Nanjing Week” in Paris, said the Qinhuai River and the Seine River, as the mother rivers of Nanjing and Paris, have witnessed the long history and splendid cultures of the two cities, representing the civilization and cultural identities of the two cities.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2014, China Post issued a set of two commemorative stamps featuring the landmarks of the Qinhuai River in Nanjing and the Seine River in Paris.

Starting from the two stamps, “Nanjing Week” will include activities to promote Nanjing and continue the friendship amid the Paris Autumn Festival, a multidisciplinary contemporary arts festival.
