Ji Jianming shows his papercutting work.

The well-known Tuisi Garden in Tongli Town of Suzhou City attracts tourists from across the country with its beautiful pavilions and ponds, but many also find it hard to resist the temptation of visiting Ji Jianming’s studio of paper-cuts.

Ji has the studio’s walls covered by all kinds of paper works he took great efforts to craft with scissors. Some are so delicate that they even present tourists, as big as rice grains, among the landscapes.

One flawless head portrait he made for a foreign tourist who was absorbed by his works features clearly visible hair and facial outlines as if it were a lifelike sketch.
