To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, a range of activities have been held by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat and member states of the ASEAN.

Fu Jian, inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage Yangzhou embroidery, was invited to Brunei to participate in the China-themed exhibition.

Fu, the youngest “Master of Arts and Crafts” of Yangzhou, was invited to participate in New Year celebrations at Brunei in 2015. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah also praised Fu’s random stitch embroidery skills.

During the celebration, the Chinese Embroidery Delegation presented a range of ancient and modern embroidery works of China’s royal embroidery in order to pass along the idea of world peace and friendship, as well as the immortal spirit of Belt and Road.

Embroidery masterpieces, including Along the River During the Qingming Festival and the National Flowers of the 10 ASEAN Countries, were also exhibited to showcase the cultural diversity of embroidery.
