The Pancheng Grape Picking Culture Festival was unveiled in Jiangbei New District of Nanjing on Aug 7.

Covering an area of nearly 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares), the vineyard is the largest grape production base in Nanjing, cultivating more than 60 varieties and winning a slew of gold medals in the city’s competitions.

As one of the 21 agriculture-oriented towns and communities in Nanjing, Pancheng Sub-district has invested more than 300 million yuan since it won green light to establish a modern agricultural demonstration park at the city level in 2013. Pancheng makes it a priority to create a “vine manor” in Zhenzhu Village, while building two demonstrative villages at the city level - the ancient Wang’s Ferry (wangjia gudu) and Xu’s Camp (Xujia Daying).

The Pancheng Vineyard has received more than 1 million tourists in total. In 2017 alone, it received a record of more than 158,000 tourists, sold 9.1 million kilograms of grapes and reaped sales of 110 million yuan, a historical high.
