Roasted sheep head, a delicacy of Xuzhou, attracted many admiring diners at the 2017 Xuzhou Fuyang Festival.

All kinds of mutton dishes are served at the 2017 Xuzhou Fuyang Festival.

Xuzhou is the hometown of the founder of Chinese cuisine Peng Zu. It is a special custom of Xuzhou to eat mutton at the beginning of the dog days. The Fuyang Festival generally lasts a month every year, starting at the first dog days of the traditional lunar calendar and closing at the end of the hottest days of the year.
