An Uzbekistan woman, whose name is Jasmine in Chinese, and who obtained a master's degree at the School of Teacher Education of the Jiangsu University (UJS), has recommended that 12 of her countrymen come to study at the UJS, according to Jiangsu media on Sept 12.

Jasmine began learning the Chinese language in 2005 and insisted on studying it for a dozen years. While at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies in 2011, Jasmine obtained a scholarship from the Confucius Institute in Tashkent to study at the UJS.

During her time at the UJS, Jasmine positively promoted the university to her relatives and friends in Uzbekistan. As a result, her younger sister and another 11 Uzbekistan students have come to study there, among whom eight obtained scholarships from the Confucius Institute in Tashkent. Jasmine now has a part-time job at a tourism website and is responsible for promoting Jiangsu’s characteristic tourism to her countrymen in Uzbekistan.
