NUIST, Harvard establish air quality & climate lab

Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST) and Harvard University have signed a cooperation agreement to establish Joint Laboratory for Air Quality and Climate (JLAQC), in an effort to promote the development of environmental science and ecology.

Professor Daniel Jacob of Harvard University and Professor Liao Hong, dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering of NUIST, will head up the joint lab.

Harvard will set up an internationally renowned GEOS-Chem air quality mode platform in NUIST. The two sides will jointly carry out atmospheric environmental research including China's regional air quality, pollutant emissions and cross-border transmission, climate variability on air quality, atmospheric environment and climate interaction.

NUIST and Harvard will also cooperate on personnel training and scientific research in other areas.
