The Zhenjiang New Area-Danyang City section of an expressway linking Taizhou City and Zhenjiang in Jiangsu Province passed the acceptance on Sept. 25.

The new road, after putting into use, will cut the journey from Yangzhong City to access Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway from one hour to just 15 minutes.

An important part of Jiangsu's expressway network, the 21.63-kilometer-long section starts from the southerntransportation hub of Yangtze River Bridge in Taizhou City and ends in a transportation hub in Danyang.

The two-way, four-lane expressway has a design speed of 120 kilometers an hour and four interchanges and one service zone along the whole line. With an investment about 1.73 billion yuan, the road’s construction started in Oct. 2015 and was completed in Sept. 2018.

As the section links the Yangtze River Bridge and the underwater tunnel, currently under construction, in the north, and the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway in the south, it is a fast-track connecting the north and south areas of the Yangtze River as well as central and southern Jiangsu.
