Spring is the very best season for an outing in the suburb. Xuzhou, surrounded by sprawling mountains, is an ideal place to take a pleasant stroll and soak in the splendor of spring.

1. Jiuli Mountain

Jiuli Mountain in the northern part of Xuzhou city is a scenic area featuring Chu-Han culture. Now it’s the best time to see plum blossoms in the mountain and a gourmet festival is underway in the area’s Guishan Mountain Plum Garden. Here, visitors can go for a walk, appreciate beautiful flowers and enjoy delicious snacks.

2. Yunlong Mountain

The magnificent spring of Yunlong Mountain was described in the works of Su Dongpo (1037-1101), a famous poet in Song Dynasty. Its western slope is covered with a massive belt of apricot trees, which reach peak bloom in mid-March every year and provide a feast for the eyes of travelers.

3. Quanshan Mountain

For many tourists, Quanshan Mountain National Forest Park is the most beautiful mountain in Xuzhou. The richly vegetated mountain boasts a large number of landscape trees as well as plenty of wild plants such as locust trees, paper mulberry trees and white mulberry trees.
