Nanjing Lukou International Airport is set to launch an automated customs clearance service before the end of August.

Zhu Guiyuan, head of Nanjing border checkpoint, said the automated customs clearance system was designed to use biometric technology to compare the biological characteristics of a citizen, as well as the biological information stored in the citizen’s passport or records for identification and certificate purposes.

He added the Nanjing Lukou International Airport's self-service customs clearance facilities have passed acceptance.
