Stretching 71.5 square kilometers, Liangxi district of Wuxi is full of the most authentic Wuxi elements. Home to a series of cultural heritages as early as 3,000 years ago, Liangxi boasts a number of scenic spots such as the Wuxi ancient Grand Canal, Jichang Garden, Huishan Ancient Town and Donglin Academy.

During a two-day trip of “Foreigners’ View of Jiangsu”, more than 30 international friends from over 20 countries experienced the charm of Liangxi through trying the folk crafts themselves.

Wuxi Ancient Kiln Relics Museum

Wuxi was once a production base for bricks and tiles in southern China in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). Located in Qingming Bridge Cultural Block, Wuxi Ancient Kiln Relics Museum displays the history of tile-making in Wuxi and different kinds of Wuxi tiles.

Floriana from Italy was excited to see the kiln as she thought the kiln “looks like the oven that we bake pizza in Italy”.

Visitors to the museum could experience tile-making at the souvenir gift shop of the museum.
