Treatment of the increasingly polluted Tangshui River has been listed as this year’s No 1 project by Tangshan, Jiangning city in East China’s Jiangsu province.
Along this ancient river, wide ditches have been dug, drain wells built and sewer networks laid, while dredging has been completed section by section. Moreover, flowerbeds have been built and plants are being relocated.
By the end of this year, visitors to the Tangshui River are likely to see clean water, green banks and beautiful scenery again. Buildings with styles commonly seen during the Republic of China period will be built along the river to attract local residents and tourists.
