The freight volume of the international freight train service linking Nanjing and Moscow, via Manzhouli Port in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has increased steadily in the past two years.

Inaugurated on June 28, 2016, the train service has been transporting goods ranging from mechanical equipment to household appliances, pesticides and textiles, mainly from the Yangtze River Delta region, Anhui and Guangdong provinces.

In the first five months of this year, the freight trains transported 23,100 tons of goods at a total value of $254 million, which exceeded the level of last year as a whole.

The two-way Nanjing-Moscow train ends the history that Nanjing had no inbound international trains, making it the most stable and fastest logistics route from East China to Russia after air transport. Editor:Dylan
