A large oil tanker began first sea trial under the escort of several ships in waters off Zhenjiang City, east China’s Jiangsu Province, on the early morning of Feb. 26.

The 308,000-ton oil tanker Xinhuiyang, the largest ever in Zhenjiang waters, will sail along the Yangtze River to the east and enter the sea during the test.

The oil tanker is 333 meters long -- more than 20 meters longer than the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning -- 60 meters wide and has a draught of 7.525 meters.
