The Huai’an Customs has adopted the first “palmtop logistics” information-based customs clearance system in northern Jiangsu for the second half of this year.

The system is an integration of technologies, including mobile QR code, WeChat platform and vehicle license plate high-definition optical identification, based on an existing customs logistics monitoring and information control system at the Huai’an Comprehensive Bonded Zone, replacing the traditional customs clearance mode of using IC cards for the identification of incoming or outgoing cargo vehicles in the zone.

The whole process of reading relevant cargo information, as well as identifying and examining the cargo loaded on an incoming or outgoing vehicle at the zone’s gate, can be completed by scanning a related QR code on the mobile phone of the driver sitting in the cargo vehicle within only five seconds instead of the previous two minutes, achieving a great efficiency improvement.
