More than 30 members of an overseas media delegation codenamed “Hi, Jiangsu” visited some places at the Suzhou New District on Sept 12, including the zone’s planning exhibition hall and its Chinese embroidery art hall.

Impressed by Suzhou’s Zhenhu embroidery, a national-level intangible cultural heritage in China, the reporters could not help but be moved by the art with needle and thread.

According to the district’s planning, a characteristic, ecological Suzhou embroidery town with living quarters and production space, suitable for habitation, working and tourism, will be built with a total investment of 3.4 billion ($500 million) by the zone three years from now.
