Huai'an make strides in Honge Lake ecological protection

In recent years, Huai'an City has made ecological protection at Hongze Lake a priority and achieved new progress through a series of measures, such as water resources protection, water environment management, and ecological restoration.

Up to now, Huai'an has dismantled 453 illegal sand mining vessels and cleared away 125 illegal dykes, covering an area of 708 hectares.

Huai'an also developed 2,000 hectares of plants zones, declared a non-fishing area of 1,000 hectares, designated some 580 hectares of area for pollution interception, and marked an area of 600 hectares as bird habitats.
