A ceremony was held on May 29 to deliver the first electric train for subway Line 1 in Changzhou.

Mainly in red and black, the train also shows elements essential to the city’s identity including Chinese roses, the city’s flower, and the southern magnolia, Changzhou’s city tree. Made from lightweight aluminum alloy with a service life of 30 years, the train is energy efficient, cost effective and environment friendly. It is also resistant to flame and corrosion, while easy to manufacture and maintain.

The Line 1 will be equipped with 36 Type B trains, each with 264 seats. Its highest speed is 80 km per hour and the maximum capacity is 2,062 passengers.

At present, construction on the major structures at all 27 underground train stations for Line 1 is complete and 98 percent of the rails have been laid, with a trial operation of the whole line schedule in December 2019.
