On the No.1 bus outside Huaian’s Southern Bus Station, local resident Zhang Shujun was excited to pay one yuan for a bus ticket by scanning his mobile phone, noting “I can pay for a bus ticket by scanning the code and this is so convenient.”

Apps called “Chengke E Jia” and “Du Ke”, researched and developed by the city bus company, will cover all bus lines this year when Huai’an citizens will be able to pay for bus tickets by scanning QR codes all over the city.

The apps can help users pay for tickets, check bus routes around and the bus’s real-time position. Tram information is also linked to the apps. In addition, residents can also use the apps to call taxies, check travel information, shop at the supermarket, book tickets and search for other information closely related to their livelihood.
