Dec. 13 marks the fourth National Memorial Day for the victims of Nanjing Massacre. On this occasion, people also paid tribute to Iris Chang, author of The Rape of Nanking.

The Memorial Hall of Iris Chang is located in Huai'an, Jiangsu province. The exhibits include her old clothes, briefcases, scanner and video footages that record the process in writing the book. A few videotapes also provide visual aids on how she researched historical materials and interviewed witnesses.

During the writing process, the bloody atrocities committed by the Japanese invaders in Nanjing inflicted torment on Chang, which led to her suicide at age of 36.

She is never forgotten by the people in her hometown - Huai'an city. In January 2017, the 1000-square-meter Memorial Hall of Iris Chang was built up in Huai'an. Since its opening, there have already been about 100,000 visitors and the average daily visit has exceeded 1,000 at peak times.
