A conference on "Internet + Child Protection" action in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui provinces and Shanghai was held in Nanjing on Sept 14. A child iris anti-abduction network platform was also launched.

The iris recognition technology will be used in the field of child safety for the first time. The children's iris database provides a "key" to home for those who are too young to tell their address.

The platform will be accessible to police stations, kindergartens, primary schools, rescue centers, hospitals, health and epidemic prevention stations and other units of public security, education and civil affairs. In the future, it will only take one second for a police officer with a portable iris scanner to determine whether the child is simply lost or abducted.
