Tram route in Huai’an ranks first in China in daily passenger transport

A total of 18 trolley trains running through Huai’an 280 times everyday transported 3.83 million passengers as of June 19 this year, according to Huai’an Modern Tram Management Company.

Its Tram Line 1 is the largest one in China in passenger flow scale.

Huai’an Modern Tram has increasingly become the first choice for local residents who rely on its advantages of high punctuality and travel efficiency with a zero-emission feature for environmental protection.

According to statistics, since 2016, the Huai’an Modern Tram has achieved an entirely safe year running 2 million kilometers, and completed 99% of running schedule and punctuality respectively.

The tram saw an increase in the number of tram trains from 8 to 18, and shortened the interval between two trains from 15 to 6 minutes.

Other achievements include increasing the highest tram traveling speeds from 35km/h to 50km/h and managed the average daily passenger flow rising from 8,000 to over 20,000 people. The system has a maximum single-day passenger flow of 43,300 people and whole-year transport of 5.5 million passengers.
