In a neighboring area near Da Bridge a new riverside field as well as a cultural wall with inscriptions of the poem “Go Across Da Bridge” by Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) poet Yang Wanli (1127 - 1206) have been erected.

During the Inner Qinhuai River renovation, Qinhuai District in Nanjing has seen the development of over a dozen riverside cultural parks by taking advantage of the historical aspects of the district.

Qinhuai River is divided into south, central and east tributaries after it runs into Nanjing city at Dongshuiguan, or East Water Pass. The southern tributary, which is also called shili qinhua, or 10-li (5 kilometer)-long Inner Qinhuai River, is known for its imperial examination culture in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) as well as its waterborne tourist routes featuring residential houses in Old Southern Nanjing area.
