With the aim of promoting exchange and cooperation between China and Iran, a large-scale cultural event is currently taking place in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The 7-day festival runs until Sunday.

"Twelve Muqam", acrobatic feats, a flute solo and Kirigiz group dancing. These performances are all part of the "2016 Experience China in Iran-Cultural Exploration of Western China".

"I really like Chinese culture. There's a place in China called Xin Jing. The musical instruments used there are very similar to the ones we have in Anzali. I think the two cultures are very close, and I think we should have more cultural exchanges like this," one visitor said.

The 7 day-event involves several exhibitions, concerts and fashion shows all about Xinjiang.
